questions, answered

How does Squadra pick teams?

Everyone puts a finger on the screen at the same time, and Squadra splits whoever is touching it into random teams - up to 10 players across 2 to 6 teams. You can set the number of teams, or the number of players per team and let the app work out how many teams that makes. If the group doesn't divide evenly, Fill teams puts everyone in and lets the sizes differ, while Exact size forms full teams only and benches the rest. There's also an optional split-screen layout for two-team games, where each half of the screen belongs to a different team. Nobody has to be captain, and nobody gets picked last.

Can it decide who goes first?

Yes. Turn Order mode gives everyone touching the screen a random position - 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on - and reveals them one at a time. It's the mode most people use at board game nights, for tournament seeding, or any time a group needs a running order rather than a single winner.

Do I have to type everyone's names?

No. There are no names, no lists and no setup - whoever puts a finger on the screen is in the draw. That's the whole point: from opening the app to having an answer takes about three seconds, which is faster than unlocking a phone and typing five names into a wheel-spinner website.

Does it work without internet?

Squadra works fully offline. There's no account, no sign-up and nothing to register - it runs on one phone passed around the table, so it works on a pitch, in a car, on a camping trip or anywhere the signal has given up.

How many people can play at once?

Up to 10 fingers at the same time, which is about the practical limit of a phone screen. Winners mode draws 1 to 10 winners from everyone touching it, Teams mode splits the same group into 2 to 6 sides, and both scale down happily to two people deciding who buys coffee.

What is Party Roulette?

It's the fourth mode, and the cruel one. Everyone holds a finger down and the app knocks players out one at a time, with the tension building as the circle shrinks - the last finger left loses. It's how you pick who pays, who does the dishes, or who has to ask the waiter for the bill.

Can I use it for football or other sports?

That's one of the most common uses, and it's Teams mode you want. For pickup football, futsal, basketball or volleyball, everyone puts a finger down and Squadra splits the group into random teams in seconds - no arguments about who picks, and no waiting while two captains take turns choosing. When you pick a size like 5-a-side and the numbers don't divide evenly, you choose what happens: Fill teams keeps everyone playing with sizes that may be uneven, or Exact size forms full teams only and the extra players sit out.

Is the selection really random?

Yes - every pick is pure chance, drawn fresh each round, and the reveal animation is for drama rather than suspense about the result. The outcome is decided the moment the round starts.

What themes are included?

16 custom themes, each restyling the whole app with its own visuals, synthesized sound and vibration: Cosmic, Sunset, Pastel, Retro Arcade, Monochrome, Neon Ice, Aurora, Golden, Vaporwave, Cyberpunked, SQUADRA-DOS, Pocket Console, Squadra 98, Radar, Maze and Pocket Beast. Cosmic and Monochrome are available in the free version, and Monochrome is the light one for bright daylight; the rest come with the one-time upgrade.

What languages does Squadra support?

16 languages, and the app follows whatever language your phone is set to: English, Croatian, Czech, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish and Turkish.

Which Android versions does it run on?

Android 7.0 and newer, on phones and tablets. A bigger screen simply means more room for fingers, which makes tablets a good fit for larger groups.

Is Squadra free?

The free version includes every game mode and is supported by ads. A one-time purchase removes the ads and unlocks all 16 custom themes - there's no subscription and no recurring charge, and Restore Purchase brings it back on your other devices.

What data does the app collect?

Squadra has no accounts and asks for no personal details. Your settings stay on your device, the free version shows ads through Google AdMob, and anonymous usage statistics help us see which features get used. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland a consent dialog appears before any ad is requested. The full details are in the privacy policy.
